Local and regional authorities mitigating and adapting to climate change using satellite services
31 May 2010 - 01 June 2010, Ljubljana, Slovenia
The workshop will provide a forum for discussions on innovative satellite tools and how these can effectively be implemented by local and regional authorities which are a fully recognised part of the solution to climate change.
In this role they can access innovative satellite information and services as adequate tools for mitigation and adaptation measures on a local level, with regard to risk management, land surface change, energy management, water security, agriculture and natural resource management, greenhouse gas reduction and others.
Emphasis will be placed on good practice examples and good practice transfer, as well as funding and support for local and regional authorities to have access to these tools.
