European Satellite Services for Safety and Security - Discover the "S" in GMES

The Workshop is organised in the frame of the LIMES project (Land and Sea Monitoring for Environment and Security), an Integrated Project co-funded by the European Commission within the 6° Framework Programme and aims to present the "S" of the GMES initiative (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) and in particular the state of the art for what concerns the pre-operational R&D services applied to the monitor of critical assets and to the prevention and management of crises, as well as to the support outside EU intervention for the management of Humanitarian relief.
The final results and recommendation of the LIMES project will be presented and discussed and the 7th Framework Programme on going initiatives on Security and Emergency - i.e. SAFER and G-MOSAIC – will present their current findings.
