Fire in Bulgaria - April 2011

Forest Fires were reported on 9 April 2011 near the villages of Gostun and Osenovo, in the south western part of Bulgaria. More than 200 hectares of pine forests were destroyed. Mountainous parts and inaccessible terrain make very difficult the intervention of local fire brigades.

The SAFER's focal point was activated on 10 April 2011 by the Bulgaria National Focal Point. A first disaster extent map was produced on 11 April 2011.
