Emergency Management

DORIS

(2010 - 2013 / EC FP7)

Ground Deformation Risk Scenarios: an Advanced Assessment Service

Based on Earth observation technologies coupled with GPS measurements and geophysical probing, DORIS intends to test an operational service for the detection, mapping, monitoring and forecasting of ground deformations caused by landslides and land subsidence.

For more information, please visit the DORIS website.

EVOSS

(2010 - 2013 / EC FP7)

European Volcano Observatory Space Services

EVOSS aims at implementing space-borne support to the observation of major volcanic hazards, in order to enhance the speed and quality of responses to major volcanic crises and offer backup monitoring capacity. The project covers the Eu territory (including overseas territories), Africa and the Caribbean.

For more information, please visit EVOSS website.

GEO-PICTURES

(2010 - 2012 / EC FP7)

GMES and EARTH Observation with Position-based Image and sensor Communications Technology for Universal Rescue, Emergency and Surveillance management

GEO-PICTURES aims at complementing the GMES emergency response service by facilitating the addition of small-scale images and videos from the field, tagged to the large scale GMES emergency response maps at exact locations. By combining the global view of an emergency zone with in field observations and images, users will get a more comprehensive view of the state of play in a crisis area.

For more information, please visit GEO-PICTURES website.

PanGeo

(2011 - 2014 / EC FP7)

Enabling access to geological information in support of GMES

PanGeo intends to enable free and open access to geological hazard information for the 52 largest towns in Europe, encompassing some 13% of the EU's total urban population, thereby adding further value to the GMES Urban Atlas maps.

PRE-EARTHQUAKES

(2011 - 2013 / EC FP7)

Processing Russian and European EARTH observations for earthquake precursors Studies

PRE-EARTHQUAKES will cross-validate European and Russian Earth Observation data with the objective to evaluate how much the real-time integration of different observational methods could improve short-term earthquake prediction capabilities.

SEMEP

(2011 - 2013 / EC FP7)

Search for Electro-Magnetic Earthquake Precursors combining satellite and ground-based facilities

The main concept of the SEMEP project is the investigation of electromagnetic phenomena related to large earthquakes in the global lithosphere-atmosphere-ionosphere coupled system using simultaneous satellite and ground-based observations.
