At the moment, every Member State has built its own capacities in oceanography, but the organisations, procedures and operational levels are extremely variable from one country to another. MyOcean aims at defining and setting up a concerted and integrated pan-European capacity for ocean monitoring and forecasting.
MyOcean is the next step toward the operational GMES marine service after many marine-related projects funded by European institutions such as POLAR VIEW, ECOOP, MARCOAST, MERSEA, ...
