- Gridded Population (Credit geoland2)
The demand for population data that are independent from administrative areas is met by raster representations, but not for all European countries. Spatial disaggregation of population data can overcome this gap and has been performed on a Europeen scale. However this approach has its own limitations. New data sets covering the EEA-38 countries and produced by geoland2 allow for an improvement of the disaggregation approach.
