Service Provision

Who will provide GMES services?

The service provision model that will be implemented for the delivery of GMES services is not defined yet. Its definition will be part of the governance model that will be adopted for GMES.

To date, the entities that will act as "service providers" for the future operational GMES services are therefore not known.

For the time being, GMES services are provided in a pre-operational mode by Consortia selected by the European Commission in the context of the EU 7^th Framework Programme. These Consortia include organisations coming from both the public and private sectors.
