2nd Forum Objectives
The second GMES forum has been hosted by ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk (NL), 14-16 January 2003.
Following from the results of the first forum held in Brussels from 15-17 July 2002, the second one continued to discuss and bring together available results and experience acquired at EU and national level over the recent years with a view to provide inputs to GMES work in progress, in particular the Cross-cutting Assessment studies. Following suggestions made at the 2nd meeting of the GMES Steering Committee, the forum analysed the lessons learnt and experience gained on data flows and information production and use, starting from the implementation of reporting obligations, as well as the publication of indicators.
The specific objectives of the Forum were:
- To stimulate and structure the dialogue between the many parties involved in the processes of monitoring, information production and use of information,
- To disseminate information on GMES activities;
- To feed back views on GMES interim results to GMES Programme managers and Steering Committee.
