GMES Socio-Economic Study

To assist the EU in moving forward with its intended programme GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security), a series of assessment studies were undertaken in parallel.

GSeS assessed the socio-economic benefits of GMES as an input to justifications for the programme, decisions on service priorities and delivering value for money.

Although the focus is on benefits, work was also undertaken to assist in the formulation of the institutional framework for GMES. This involved consultation with key Stakeholders to assess how GMES will be co-ordinated so as to deliver the full benefit potential.
